Chatting with Founder of Starra Education- Jonne Docherty about Parenthood-
Joanne has been working with and for families since 2006. She graduated with an Honours Degree in Education specializing in the social and emotional development of children and after working in schools at the leadership level, completed a Master’s Degree in Child Psychology and Law.
In 2018 Joanne founded Starra Education and delivers accredited mental health training with a huge focus on whole family mental health. She teaches at The University of Glasgow. She is also in the Scottish Parliament’s Cross Party Group on Mental Health and is the figurehead for Psychologists for Social Change Scotland.
Joanne is heavily involved in Third Sector community work and is the Chair for Nurture Scotland, an organization that supports kinship carers; she was raised in kinship care herself. She is also the Executive Management Team of Govan Youth Information Project, a non-profit organisation that delivers empowering youth work to children and young people.
